Hope Ranch learning Academy is seeking a 12th Grade Teacher for a Special Needs Christian Private K-12 school in Hudson, Florida for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year! The ideal 12th Grade Teacher candidate would have a passion for instilling leadership qualities in their students, Valid Florida Teaching License, experience in classroom management and special education. Our top 12 Grade Teacher candidate would be responsible for leading classroom instruction (for classes no larger than 16 students), developing lesson plans, managing student behavior, and providing individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs if selected. The 12th Grade Teacher will demonstrate a dedicated focus in their classroom on leadership and instilling the importance of contributing to the community around us in their students. The 12th Grade Teacher will work closely with the school administration and their Teaching Assistant to support the academic success of all students.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements daily lesson plans. Lesson plans should be creative; appropriate to both the class and to individual students; modified as needed; engaging to students; related to curriculum goals and objectives; developed to utilize a variety of media, methods, techniques, and strategies; and designed to maximize each student’s abilities and achievements.
• Lead the students on various community outings to "give back to the community" throughout the school year through Vocational Rehab Work Based Learning Experiences.
• Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
• Participates in other supervisory or monitoring responsibilities of students, such as during lunch, recess, to/from school activities, or school outings.
• Manage student behavior and maintain a safe and positive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with school administration and special education staff to develop and implement academic support plans.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
• Provides leadership to Teaching Assistants working within the classroom.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field ( REQUIRED ).
• 4+ years of teaching experience (REQUIRED).
• Valid Florida Teaching license and certification (Preferred).
• Experience working with students with special needs (Preferred).
• Comfortable working and participating in a Christian Private School environment.
• Current and Valid Driver's License.
• Experience in classroom management and behavior modification techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team..
• Be able to provide proof of degree(s) and/or certification(s).
• Be able to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance.
• Be able to pass a Drug Test.
• Be able to pass an Alcohol Screening.

Our non-Denominational Christian Private School is set on a wooded horse ranch, and we focus on students with Autism and other learning disabilities. We use innovative teaching and classroom management techniques which include the Teaching Family Model and horse interaction as part of the academic experience.Classrooms consist of 1 Lead Teacher, 1-2 Teaching Assistants and a maximum of 15 students. The Elementary classroom has a 5:1 Student to Instructor ratio and our Middle and High School Classroom has a max of 8:1 Student to Instructor ratio.
