Job Summary: We seek a responsible and compassionate Dog Handler / Kennel attendant to join our team. The Individual will be responsible for our animal guests' daily care and well-being, including, group play supervision, feeding, cleaning, and providing exercise and socialization. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable around all breeds of dogs.
Hours/Shifts
● Day/Evening rotating
● Must work every other weekend Sat &Sun
● 20-30 hrs/week with ability to pick up extra
Responsibilities:
● Feed and water animals according to their individual needs
● Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas.
● Provide exercise and socialization for animals.
● Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to management.
● Administer medication and treatments as directed by management or veterinary staff.
● Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as directed.
● Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries and reservations.
● Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.
Requirements
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Must have reliable transportation.
● Prior experience working with animals required
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
● Ability to work with all breeds and temperaments of dogs. Including working dog breeds. I.e.German shepherds, bully breeds as well as medium to small breeds
● Excellent communication and customer service skills
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Ability to react quickly and respond to emergent issues.
● Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
● Physical Demands: The Kennel Attendant will be required to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. The position may also require bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Work Environment:
The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal hair, dander, and odors. The position may also require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. $14 starting pay for daycare attendants.
