The Color Excellence team provide the foundation to inspire the inspirers. As part of the larger CMTS (Color Material Trend Sustainability team) - this is a new organization within Product Design at NIKE. It is the first wave creative group that sets and translates Creative Direction for product, providing visionary annual and seasonal creative edges, design trends, concepts and end to end strategies. We define and drive Nike Creative Direction, which enables a consistent and uniquely-Nike consumer experience through the Art + Science of Color.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    We are looking for a passionate and creative Senior Color Designer for the Color Excellence Team. For this role, you deeply understand color trends, consumer insights, cultural acuity to a global Nike consumer, color achievability across a range of substrates, color theory, and digital color programs + applications. You are able to transform and capture the above through Narrative + Color Palette build + Applications + Communication. You are an innovative and forward thinking visual storyteller who translates vision into physical palettes in service of supporting the creative direction and narrative. You have a passion for the Art and Science of color and its impact on design. You have awareness of, and are eager to further develop skills in, translating consumer / athlete insights into seasonal and long term color concept and narrative. You must be detail oriented with a clear understanding of and respect for calendar and process. You can Capture, Organize, and Communicatie Color Palette through Physical + Digital builds. You place a high value on your teammates through collaboration, inclusion, optimism and positivity. You are a bridge builder, a friend maker, an innovator, and a go getter.

    WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

    If this is you, you will play a key role in shaping the color and feel of Nike products! You will research color trends and contribute in building the Nike Color Excellence direction and narrative. You leverage the intersection of the Nike brand, Consumers, and the broader world to identify key hue spaces, creating seasonal color directions to define modern sport end to end. You will create seasonal and seasonless palettes, exploring color combinations and finishes. You will assist with the physical and digital build of the color innovation frameworks, global palettes, and creating presentations and other tools as needed. You will continue to build knowledge of color theory, color sustainability, manufacturing methods, digital color and trend development. You will provide design support and collaboration to Color Design Leadership through a Color end use mindset.

    WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

    You will report to the Senior Director, Color Design Excellence. This is a highly visible role that collaborates closely with Design Leadership, Global Design teams across all Nike product creation, as well as trends and products innovation teams.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
    • At least 4 years of design and/or product related role.
    • Expert in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
    • Deep understanding of the Nike Global Athlete* + Consumer through strong cultural acuity.
    • Familiar with fashion + street trend and subculture
    • Sport Culture + Storytelling.
    • Strong organizational, communication, time management skills
    • Curiosity about the future, future color, future color applications.
