What You Can Expect as a Senior Financial Real Estate Analyst
As a Senior Financial Real Estate Analyst, you will play a vital role in our data-driven decision-making process. Your day will typically begin with reviewing financial reports and market trends, followed by conducting in-depth scenario analysis to generate actionable insights that will help optimize our real estate investments. You'll work closely with various teams, including the Real Estate Team and Leadership, ensuring we align on our goals and strategies. Your contributions will significantly enhance our decision-making processes through comprehensive financial modeling and analysis, ultimately improving project outcomes and investment performance. Additionally, you will engage with external stakeholders such as real estate brokers, property managers, and financial institutions to gather essential data and insights for effective analysis and strategy development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze cash flow projections to identify potential liquidity issues and optimization opportunities, ensuring timely adjustments for financial stability.
- Create and update pro forma financial statements for new and ongoing real estate projects by integrating key assumptions, market data, and investor return metrics to align projections with financial goals.
- Maintain and update financial models for real estate developments, reflecting the latest data and scenarios to optimize investor returns and project profitability.
- Develop and manage budgets for various real estate projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives for effective financial planning.
- Conduct scenario analysis and ad hoc financial analyses to provide actionable insights supporting strategic decision-making and optimizing project outcomes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, ensuring clear and accurate communication of information.
- Collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure consistency across all financial analyses, fostering alignment and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Accounting, or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in financial analysis within a real estate environment or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, especially cash flow statements.
- Experience in cash flow projections, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and managing complex Excel models.
- Proven experience in reporting, forecasting, analyzing financial information, and contributing to financial planning activities.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues, analyze data, and provide sound recommendations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial analysis for large-scale real estate developments or complex real estate portfolios.
- Understanding of real estate incentives and their impact on financial analysis and project planning.
- Experience in managing financial aspects of real estate projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Experience with strategic planning and long-term financial forecasting within the real estate sector.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
